Christian Writers Fellowship of Girard KS invited JoAnn to be one of two teachers at their March 31-April 1, 2006 Called to Write Conference. She gave the opening Key Note address: "Hearing and Knowing God's Call to Write" on Saturday morning followed by four other classes on differing writing topics. She also spoke November 3, 2007 at the Writers of Inspirational Novels (ACFW-WIN OK), a group in Tulsa OK that is part of the national American Christian Fiction Writers group.

She was on faculty at Write-To-Publish conference in Wheaton, Illinois, in 2006, teaching and serving on a writer's panel.

JoAnn's stories have been published in several compilation books and she is an editor, ghostwriter, and webmaster of her website Epistle Works at http://epistleworks.com.

She taught a fun Teleworkshop sponsored by CWG titled, "Tie on that Bungee Cord and Leap into Laughter - How-tos and Tips on Humor Writing" in 2004.

JoAnn will be discussing ways we as believers can use our calling to work with words to influence the world around us and help others. She will have a handout for those present to use with various questions for them to answer to help them discover ways to use their gift with words.
